Avs cut 10 after Tuesday’s game vs Vegas, roster at 30

The Avs announced some more roster cuts after the 6-1 preseason loss to the Golden Knights Tuesday night.

Forward Matthew Phillips, and defensemen Jack Ahcan and Calle Rosen were placed on waivers with the intent of assigning them to the Colorado Eagles (AHL) training camp if they clear.

Forwards Jean-Luc Foudy, Jere Innala, Jayson Megna, Jason Polin and Matthew Stienburg, defenseman Sean Behrens, and goaltender Trent Miner were also assigned to the Eagles camp.

The surprises hear might be Matthew Stienburg and Jere Innala, as both looked to have solid games on Tuesday night and were probably each getting a legit look at an opening night roster spot. For a guy like Jean-Luc Foudy, you’ve got to wonder if he is starting to wear off as a top Avs prospect. He just has never shown that spark in an NHL game or camp. He might end up being a player that needs to pivot his game a bit to become more of a grinder to ever make it at the NHL level.

Monday, 9/30: defenseman Jacob MacDonald was placed on waivers and reassigned to the Eagles camp; forwards Oskar OlaussonChase BradleyTye Felhaber and Nikita Prishchepov were also reassigned to the Eagles camp.

Saturday, 9/28: defensemen Keaton Middleton and Wyatt Aamodt and goaltender Kevin Mandolese were reassigned to the Eagles camp.

Monday, 9/23: forward Chad Hillebrand and defenseman Devante Stephens were reassigned to the Eagles camp; defenseman Saige Weinstein was assigned to his junior club, Spokane (WHL).

Saturday, 9/21: forwards Neil Shea and Briley Wood, and defenseman Garrett Pyke were reassigned to the Eagles camp; forward Max Curran was assigned to his junior club, Tri City (WHL).
